What a bunch of crap. I am loving this so much.
Burn it to the ground.

What likely happened was ESPN promoted both of their properties, Alabama and Miami, to the exclusion of ND. The ACC was simply the conduit. Do you think the ACC office created those flyers?

can burn anything to the ground whining on message boards and social media. However, you all are doing a great job of showing the public who and what you really are, all the while killing any actual public sympathy for ND outside of your own fan base.

you think. Reading comprehension 101.
Naturally, you will not answer a direct question, as you NEVER do. Yet you always tell others to answer your questions.
You sir, are what's wrong with the ACC. Your arrogance and entitlement of your "20" years on this board comes through loud and clear.
Please mute me if you do not want my opinion, at least that I can respect.
Otherwise, answer the damn question.

like you did tell me what you think although as you were told earlier today, thinking is a questionable activity with you. If you need to refresh your memory, see your last sentence ”Seems to me ....." in the post I responded to.
I do not need to mute you, the comedy of your ignorance is always good for a laugh and an opportunity to put you in your place. I answer and respond to valid questions, your problem is you rarely, if ever, ask one.

did not back up your statement about ND showing who and what they are. You must have some inkling of what that post meant, as it was you that typed it.
So, again, who and what are they????????????????????????????????????/

before was because I thought it would be obvious to most anybody with a basic knowledge of college football. I guess I erroneously included you in that group.
ND is only about ND and there opinion of their program is primarily built off accomplishments approaching 40 years old now. They believe they warrant special attention as their own conference of one. Their actions have one focus, and only one focus, what is good for ND. Nothing wrong with that focus, other than they try to pretend to be a guardian of the sport. That is a questionable position to take when their former AD is playing footsie with Sankey and the SEC regarding future playoff structure behind everyone else's back. They have been coddled by the networks, the Big East and the ACC and this time, maybe the first time, when it did not go their way they point fingers and threaten to take their ball and go home. I could go on but, hopefully this is enough of an answer for you to quiet your BS claim that I NEVER answer a question.

with the conference; i.e., which games count toward fulfillment of the contract and which don't. ND wants those extra games added last year to count. ACC does not.
ND isn't going to join a conference in football and no one else with schools they like to play will give them this deal and put them on TV all the time. Besides, starting next year this issue doesn't matter.
ACC does need to fix the tiebreaker snafu. And all conferences should use the same system.

This AD came from NBC Sports. Perhaps NBC is pushing him to get ND away from ESPN. If they go to the Big East NBC shows Big East games I believe.
It was Jack Swarbrick who saw the value in the ACC. Don't really know much about this man.

they should be poking the committee and Alabama, not Phillips for finally standing up for his conference. They know that, nobody is dumb enough to not know that.

They may want to be careful with how they spurn that. They helped put Stanford and Cal Berkeley in here. They may not care, but I seem to remember TerryD talk about periods in time when the Academics at ND smacks down football a peg. I know they are mad and disappointed. I'm just pointing out another motivation that may be possible behind the scenes.

there is no other conference with teams they want to play and a network to show their games that will give them this deal
next year the playoff deal is moot...top 12 they're in
they want those extra games they recently agreed to play to count as contract games. the ACC does not.

It's Big Ten or ACC with current scheduling. They could go back to the Big East perhaps, but Kevin White and Jack Swarbrick saw scheduling get very difficult especially in November. It's now gotten worse with each of the P4 going to 9 games.
Kevin White was close to putting ND in the Big Ten, but there was a revolt then, and he backed down. Jack Swarbrick put in place what we have now. If this guy blows that up, then good luck.

They make $20M from the ACC deal; if they were to go to the Big East they would make about half of that. The Big Ten and SEC will not accommodate their desire to be independent in football. They're already having trouble keeping USC on the schedule for football without moving the game to September, which leads me to believe they'd have a hard time filling out a competitive schedule without 4-5 ACC games in October and November.

have already colluded on an ACC type deal for ND.
I know in the past B1G has stood on principle about ND but after raiding the PAC it is obvious all that matters is added marginal money per school. And I have no doubt that if the ACC deal was replicated with the B1G, everyone gets more money and ND gets a better schedule.
I think this is all a rouse to get out of the ACC early with a minimal breakup fee and that there may already be a verbal deal behind the scenes with B1G. If so let everyone get lawyered up!

not have a problem landing a place for the other sports. However, I don't know about the B1G doing it, I don't think they could get the B1G presidents to support it. The Big East and maybe the B12 yes, but the B1G Presidents would get eaten up by their donors for doing it IMHO.

But we make approx 2X more in revenue in the ACC than we did in the American, so it wasn't much of a hit at all. ND would be losing money each year moving from the ACC to the Big East.

Now it did post things saying a team that beat ND was a better choice.
As it should have.
Remember as ND has always said - it is just business - make the decisions in your own best interests without regard to what the other participant is going to do. Miami going to the CFP earns the ACC money - ND going does not - by NDs choice.
It is time for this to end. I always agreed ND was/is never joining a conference on its own volition (some thought differently). Back when this agreement was made there were 4 CFP participants and the agreement stated that IF ND joined a conference during the length of the contract - it had to be the ACC. It was worth the chance that if the CFP had remained 4 teams, and conference champions were involved, that ND's hand might be forced. ND powers actually said that not having a chance at being in the championship picture would be the thing that changed their mind on conferences - course they also adamantly said they'd never be part of a system that paid players either...
Once it became more than 4 - now 12 - soon to be more teams - this is out the window and that slight possibility no longer exists - that was part of the ACC's reason to agree - however slight.
Without that, it now appears ND wants too much - and IMHO the ACCs days have been numbered for quite a while. Now I don't think even ND joining in full by itself would change that.
It was fun - I enjoyed going to South Bend and watching a win.

bet them head to head. IMO Miami should have gotten into the playoffs, but that isn't the issue here.
If head to head means that much, the BYU should have gotten the invite over SMU last year. Don't hear you saying anything about that.

their only loss to BYU - THEN, being beat by a not really strong Clemson should have put them below BYU.
if you are going to make the head to head comment about Miami and ND (which I agree with), then you must also acknowledge that BYU should have gotten the nod over SMY last year.
Of course you won't, as you are biased.

BYU had two regular season losses, both in November, and one to a 5-7 team at home
SMU was 11-2 with the second loss coming on a last second FG in the ACCCG.
Two regular season losses is more than one regular season loss. If I'm biased then I guess so were the CFP, AP and Coaches Poll voters, all of whom had SMU 5+ spots ahead of BYU in their final ranking before the playoff.
