Not only does he recently and very publicly lambast the FSU and Clemson lawsuit, but his appointments to the board minus FSU and Clemson are full of Mag 7 schools. Interesting move to say the very least. All that said, it will come down to what ESPN, Fox, and the SEC and B1G leaders want to have happen. If FSU and Clemson leave, those 4, especially the networks will just do what they did for the B12, when everyone thought they were Dead. Everyone keeps acting like Brent Yormark was brilliant, he was brilliant enough to say to ESPN and Fox what do you want to save my Conference, and he gave it to them. I think Jim Phillips with all of his current bravado to try to hold on to the Mag 7, knows he has to do the same. If INSIDE99 is right, and there are fireworks on Monday, and eventually Memphis joins the ACC, that’s an obvious move to build up basketball brands, and probably hold on to Louisville. I can see, if ESPN significantly increases ACC rights, that ACC go aggressive with not only Memphis but also see if they can peel off WVU and Central Fla (and even see if Wash St and Oregon St would be willing t merge he remnants f the PAC 12 and with that maybe UTAH DOES move... That would definitely freak out the big 12.

But with enough eyeballs for big media to make a tidy sum if done a certain way. Big 12's real strength is in Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa. TBD how OSU drops with OU now in a better league than they are. The Big 12 schools in Texas will always be way behind TAMU and Tex but there is still enough eyeballs for them to carve out a niche. OSU maybe can do that as well and there is no change in ISU vs the P2 Iowa. What will die is the idea that the Big 12 can somehow get close to the P2. But that is DOA anyway.

you would get the teams in Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas in the ACC. It's just that simple. No differently than if the ACC has a contract where the B12 could poach schools. The B12 would get teams in Kentucky, PA, Virginia, North Carolina, and a few others. It will be one or the other my friend. That is all based on the premise that there is a big enough disparity in the contracts. If there is not a big disparity, no B12 team is going to the ACC, and no team is going to the B12 from the ACC. neither conference is in a position to poach anyone. The key moving forward, is if the ACC can stay together - last I checked, there is a bit of litigation going on. keeping FSU and Clemson gives the ACC a shot at a bigger contract. If they leave, it's anybody's best guess. BTW - I'm SHOCKED we would disagree.
