SI and Yahoo reporting Michigan to sue Big 10 and Regents met to leave
More reports leaking that Michigan Regents met and would vote to leave if Big 10 did what it did to Harbaugh without due process. Now also being reported that they found out from an Espn report while on a plane. If they are going to sue the Big 10, I don't think that is a good sign they are going to be on the greatest terms. If true, the ACC would be in a great position to win the realignment battle.

Harbaugh will also miss the Maryland game (they won’t need him anyway) and just before the Ohio State game there will be a compromise for his suspension to be two games. He will accept an NFL job (Bears? Colts? Raiders?) after the season concludes. The assistant who coached yesterday will become the new head coach. Michigan will not be leaving the Big Ten.

They have a legal agreement and grant of rights and separate agreement for research consortium with the other members.
If they sue, that is basically saying there is no relationship with the other schools. Does the Big 10 exclude them from conference meetings, business discussions, and also bar them from R&D teams since basically they are suing the other institutions. Also, if Mich is suing the Big 10, they are suing Mich State (another state of Michigan public institutions).
I agree the popcorn, but alot of long term relationships will be scorced.
Also just an observation, one of ND big issues was michigan in the big 10, (remember historically the Big 10 in the twenties boycotted ND, led by Mich leadership who was anti-catholic). If Michigan leaves, does the tone with ND and the Big 10 change??? interesting.....

He holds grudges and values loyalty. If the university keeps backing him like they are now, he will stay. He will want to punish those who he sees as wronged him.

A&M is ticked at SEC screw job letting the Shorthorns in, MyChicken & PSU need to go somewhere they can win more easily & as a special bonus…I might consider the Prophylactics to join also…
This all contingent on the financial deal being set…

It also paints a picture of events that are eerily similar to things that are going on with many three-letter government agencies and their repeated flaunting of the Constitution and abuses of power, as well as the weaponization of the justice system in certain instances. One thing that seems to play out over and over again throughout history is that when human beings are in positions of power, they generally don't handle it well.
It will be interesting to watch the fallout from this Michigan situation. I think they certainly cheated, but the conference may have really screwed the pooch by rushing to punish them.

I want to stay in the Big10, but if we move, the ACC would be my choice.

There wouldn't be much reason to choose SEC over ACC for UM. ESPN will have to up ACC pay with Michigan. Florida and Texas access would be there. No more Harbaugh summer camps in Florida needed.
And the academic peers are in the ACC as you state.
