Revenue sharing based on success AND P5 OOC scheduling
A comment in the thread below made me think about another criteria for the unequal revenue sharing model. Boston College is the poster child for the pitfalls of socialism - if they get the same paycheck from ESPN as Clemson, FSU, Miami, VT, etc., then why bother scheduling P5 teams OOC? This is an egregious abuse of the revenue sharing model in that they are actively devaluing the ACC media rights by scheduling games that are worthless to ESPN. There should absolutely be a financial penalty for this in the revenue sharing model. I'd be ok with cutting their share by 30% or more. I would propose the following guidelines to get the full revenue share:
1. No more FCS teams. Period.
2. Minimum of 1 P5 game in addition to ND.
3. No road games at G5 schools.

doing "business" that has run college football for the last several years. The incentives aren't lined up correctly - "inefficiencies in the market," if you want to use business lingo.
The main appeal of Rutgers is that the Big Ten would get more per cable subscriber in NJ by having an in state school. That means that an immigrant grandmother who doesn't speak English and knows nothing about football is paying more for the BTN than she was pre-Rutgers. Kudos to everyone involved for figuring out how to exploit a dumb system. Same deal with BC. Once people realize this and correct the situation, schools like those two aren't nearly as valuable.

In reality it's all about eyeballs. If your team stinks it up year after year but still draws big TV ratings, that's okay with ESPN. In theory your three criteria drive higher ratings. I'm sure the ACC private schools would never vote for a ratings-based distribution model so on-field performance is the best we can do for now.

And somehow people buy into that and they get to the playoffs, where they almost always lay an egg (GA played its worst game of the year by far vs OSU).

vs the other P5. I'd also love to know how UGA played their worst game of the year. If Harrison doesn't get injured, UGA loses. That's just laughable. The Big Ten is the 2nd best football conference. It's not particularly close.
