Today would be a great day for the ACC to collapse

If it did collapse? I have an idea and it is that the "new model" has no place for most of the ACC teams so they would fall down to something like the G5 without the current G5 money.

ND and Duke taking our spot. I have no doubt that political pressure would force UGA to support adding GT. So they take the 8th spot. Duke is not saying they're interested in the SEC now but if everyone else is going, they'll show interest. So maybe they take NCSU's spot. Then what about ND. If ND sees the writing on the wall and knows that if they don't join the SEC as a full member that they'll be stuck in the B1G when the break away occurs. Then ND could take our spot.
Then We'd be back in the BE again:
BC, Cuse, Pitt, Louisville, VT, NCSU, Wake.
Add, UConn, Temple, Memphis, USF and SMU to round out to 12.
Or join the B12. Maybe we can convince the best of the B12 and P12 to join the ACC because we have a network and can get their states at the instate rate.
Big 24
East - BC, UConn, Cuse, Temple, Pitt, WVU
Atlantic/Metro - Cincy, louisville, Memphis, VT, NCSU, Wake
South West - Iowa St, Kansas, OklaST, TCU, TT, Baylor
Pacific - Washington, Oregon, Cal, Arizona, Utah, Colorado

even down to the suggested connection of VT and UVA would have any bargaining power at all? This is now only about the remaining teams that big media wants.

It's sad to think We're not gonna make it And it's gotten to the point Where we just can't fake it
For some ungodly reason We just won't let it die (let it die) I guess neither one of us (neither one of us)
Wants to be the first to say goodbye I keep wondering (wondering) What I'm gonna do without you (do without you)
And I guess you must be Wondering that same thing too So we go on, go on together
Living a lie (living a lie) Because neither one of us (neither one of us)
Wants to be the first to say goodbye Oh-oh-oh, everytime I find the nerve
Everytime I find the nerve to say I'm leaving (leaving) Old memories, those old memories
Get in my way (my way, my way) Oh-oh-oh, Lord knows it's only me
Oh, He knows it's only me that I'm deceiving Ooh, ooh, ooh, when it comes to saying goodbye
That's a simple word that I just cannot say There can be no way, there can be no way (be no way)
This can have a happy ending (happy ending) No, no, so we just go on (we go on)

A lot of posturing to get things lined up in the future. I’m sure Jim Phillips is shook

It needs to collapse after we're fielding a respectable football team, not when we're at rock bottom.

More to it than that. Way more.

These things seemingly happen fast...but not without forethought. Adding VT, for instance, to the SEC is not an immediate impact of another powerhouse football program that will compete for the national championships. However, it is a future investment based on a proven loyal fanbase that brings high ratings to multiple sports, not just football.
