It's not so optimistic, to put it lightly.

It that what is actually behind all these Pac cannot get a TV Network Contract crying articles? That would definitely cause these type problems. Would there be a 2036 GOR existing in the ACC these days if Clemson & FSU had refused to sign it in 2016? I remember hearing just one report several months ago that Washington & Oregon had refused to sign a GOR. Then silence on that front and just this wash of doom predictions for the Pac. I guess the truth hurts somebody?

sign with them. When John Skipper talked a couple of days ago about a ACC/PAC merger with the PAC using the ACC network, he specifically said 8 from the PAC. Could he be thinking Oregon and Washington to the B1G. However, the rest to the ACC/PAC merger? Could there be a competition between the ACC and B12 for the 4 Corners schools? So far, itâs been expect the unexpected. đ¤ˇââī¸

Talks have picked up lately between Big 12 and four corner schools.

Apparently they are not seeing light at the end of the tunnel on the PAC12 media negotiations. My only question is "Where is Jim Phillips?"

He is not doing the conference any favors and is too damn quiet on what is happening! FFS, someone from this ACC have some balls and say enough is enough! If the ACC sits idle on all of this, the league will get what it deserves and it will eventually collapse! đĄ
Is Jim Phillips this incompetent?

Need to have a trusted agent with him in all meetings (especially while he is interviewing with the Big 10) ( I wonder if he negotiating to Bring FSU and others as well after becomes big 10 commissioner)

If the ACC wanted to expand, they should look to stealing "eastern" schools from the B12, starting with WVU.

But Jim Phillips let both sign with the Big XII. He was running around talking about an Alliance with the Big Ten and PAC12, and talking about making everyone's neighborhood in all the other conferences a success. Now WVU and Cincinnati are gone.
UConn is available. Memphis is available. We need new states with large populations that have subscribers for the ACC Network.

Big states? Might wanna start with SMU. And if you go West Coast, we need
to take a decent amount of schools to make it worth while. Start with a team from California and go to work from there.
Washington, Arizona or ASU, Oregon, Colorado, Utah. None of those states are as big as Ohio though. University of Ohio seems like a reach, but it it's just a craven money grab, why not?
I think CT is the biggest state that doesn't have a P5 team. But still, it isn't big. I like Tulane, but Louisiana isn't that big either.
As much as I hate to break up in-state rivals, it makes little sense to take two schools from one state, especially a small state.
How valuable is it to add a state to the ACCN for the ACC? And of course there is a law of diminishing returns here. How small is too small of a state to add?

Back in the day when ACC was choosing their teams, they looked down on WVA because of their academics. Funny how that is coming around to bite conferences like the PAC, and ya, the ACC.

Something like this:
We take WVU and UCF (or Cincinnati).
The PAC takes six, BYU, OSU, Kansas, Texas Tech, Baylor, and TCU (or maybe Houston).
Both the ACC and the PAC would have 16 teams and college football would be left with 4 power conferences.
We merge into one TV conference, rebrand the ACCN into the PACCN, schedule one or two ACC vs PAC OOC match ups each week, etc.

Ya know. It would be nice if the ACC would at least make the Big XII work
for it. I mean, is the B12 going to be able to just come in and take those four schools uncontested? If the ACC at least throws its hat in the ring, maybe it would force the B12 to take more than they would otherwise want (maybe they would take Oregon State to get Oregon for instance if they know that the ACC would at least take Oregon).
If the B12 gets UO and UW, the ACC looks pretty small time compared the that schedule.
The ACC acts helpless and listless sometimes. It's infuriating.

Once the Big 12 takes the 4 four corners schools...
The Big 16 will take the 4 most desirable Pac-12 leftovers (Cal, Stanford, Oregon and Washington). Oregon State and Washington State will join the MWC or have the MWC become the Pac-12. ;)
As for Jim Phillips, maybe someone from the ACC media willl ask him about conference realignment when he's at the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament finals this weekend? More likely, the ACC media will ask Phillips what paint color would he like his new Charlotte office to be.

I don't see any resume enhancements coming from his time here at the ACC. Maybe he can move their HQ to Indianapolis.

experience and not just a TV guy. I also think the B1G would eventually like to get some ACC schools. So those two things would give him a punchers chance. I also think if I was interviewing for another job, I would be real quiet about the current job. Both FSU and Clemson have spoken out negatively against the ACC, and not a peep from him. Thatâs beyond odd, unless you want another job.
PS The other one with College experience is Gene Smith, many think he has been leading the Conference anyway, so why not make it official.
