The projections for the playoff have 2 ACC teams slotted
for invites, as it should. 3 loss BAMA, A&M, and Ole Miss have been dropped, as they should be. There is also a scenario that the ACC get 3 in with a two loss Clemson. If a two loss SEC team loses in the SEC championship, they will be a 3 loss at large.
The B12 will get one this year, but like the SEC, it's the price they will pay for parity this year.
Penn State will get the benefit of a soft schedule, but a one loss IU and Penn State should be included IMHO. If either one of those schools get upset, then they in all probability not get an at large, and open a spot for 3 ACC teams.
Good luck for your conference, and IMHO, SMU is the better team this year - absolutely remarkable for them.

Indiana, Georgia and Tennessee (less so) are all big favorites. But certainly one could lose.
A&M should lose.
I think Penn St, Oregon and OSU are in either way.
Notre Dame could easily lose.

are included in the final CFP field. Once again, if you think the ACC is getting two teams in, you're really out to lunch. They are not putting SMU and Clemson/Miami in the CFP field. It's going to be one or the other, and Clemson couldn't even make the championship game in the JV ACC, where it just means less. But, yeah, they're going to put non-championship Clemson or the loser of the ACCCG in the playoff while 3-4 B1G teams and half the SEC will be taking an invitation for granted.

year as far as getting teams into the playoff - Bama knocked out, Texas beats aTm, UGA could be knocked out if they lose to Texas in SEC championship (which I think will happen), and Vandy upsets UT. I would bet there is a "gentlemen's agreement" that at least 3 SEC teams get into the playoffs regardless of rules, rankings, etc. Imagine multiple 3-loss teams getting into the College Football Playoff - what an absolute joke.

...most the year, Ga tackling has been VT LB esk at times and Beck is certainly not playing to the level of the first pick. It's amazing, the multiple losses simply mean "what depth" the SEC has. hahaha. Watching the games, a lot of these top SEC teams are just not playing well, certainly not at some elite level. You can be flawed this year and make a run the playoffs.

PS Joe called Saban first to Alabama, and now he’s on full rage to get Lane Kiffin to Alabama. Full disclosure, he wanted Kiffin to get the job in the first place. Basically said, nice guys finish last.

the perineal blue bloods. Except for very special years, the consistent undefeated or one loss seasons are gone, and the double digit winning seasons will be tougher to come by, especially if they have to schedule decent non conference games.

poll matters. Since there is no transparency and oversight for the weekly polls, they really only serve two purposes; to give ESPN and the other networks promotional material for pending games and give shows talking material to help promote the upcoming games and FBS Playoffs. The same is true for the preseason polls.

in? Granted, OSU won the whole thing, but that's not the point. TCU was #4 and won a conference road game 55-3. Then got bumped. All polls before the final one should be condemned.

that have not been invited to the P2 party. If the ACC falters, it will be because the "brands" have been invited to the P2. I don't think a new conference will be conjured up from scratch, so whether B12 teams will be added to the P2 and ACC, or ACC teams will be added to the P2/B12, we will know.
It is my hope that we remain where we are with schools moving into the P2, but hope has never been a good investment strategy.
It is also my hope that all of FBS and Division 1 schools that are not in the P2 form their own championships, and let the P2 figure things out on their own. That however, will in all probability not happen.
BTW, there are currently 9 teams with a pathway to the B12 championship game. That is 9 fanbases that will be paying acute attention to their games this coming weekend. While this scenario only gives 1 playoff participant, it sure is a lot of fun.

I could see tennessee losing to vanderbilt, Georgia losing to GT or USC losing to Clemson. A&M could easily beat the horns.
Louisville over Kentucky and FSU showing a pulse against UF would be nice too.
Lots of games left to shake things up.
