If I was FSU, Clemson, UNC & NC State, I would not pick up the telephone when Phillips called. Stanford is desperate from what I hear. They cannot even schedule P4 opponents as an Independent for the future. Notre Dame concerns about that in the long term probably was the main reason for the ACC attachment. The B1G would never had agreed to that arrangement. Will the ACC bend over for Stanford just like for Notre Dame. Phillips has probably done got his visit from a bag man. Just like Swofford was sitting pretty after throwing the ACC under the bus for ESPN. FSU and Clemson are football schools. They belong in the SEC or B1G. Not in the basketball ACC thinking ACC. Not caring about football is what causes all that corruption on Tobacco Road. Not enough football fans to hold anybody's feet to the fire. I use to think of Virginia Tech as a football school. A decade ago was sure a different experience on this board. The Hokie fans said FSU leaving was no problem, that the Hokies would just follow FSU. FSU leaving would just be the good excuse. Not the mentality here now at all. I think the board is infested with tobacco road people that have been here for many years. They are thinking about good basketball. I don't really care if FSU leaves the ACC or not. The SEC doesn't need them as some here have wisely noted. I just tire of the ACC homerism here. I think the SEC & B1G will both want a school in Virginia if the ACC ever folds. That will give the Hokies a good home. I really believe that.
