Pay attention to the end of the PAC's negotiating window (August 5?)

ESPN is supposedly their only suitor, but the PAC can refuse if their deal isn't good enough and let it simmer. I don't think much else is happening this offseason. Unless Jim Phillips grows that set of gigantic brass balls I want him to obtain and goes and gets Washington, Oregon, Utah, Stanford and Cal. (I know....Cal...blech...but...Bay Area...we need 19...get Stanford...shrugs...) If you're wondering why I said we need 19, well 19 teams fits the "Play 3 rivals, then rotate 5 home/away every two years" schedule the ACC just put out. It just now takes 6 years to work your way through the other 15 teams as opposed to 4 years for 10 other teams. It also puts the ACC where it needs to be to hold on to the 1% chance of adding Notre Dame. As far as Notre Dame, I'm pretty sure the ACC's GOR, ND's upcoming re-up wth NBC and the inability for the SEC and B1G to breakaway is sufficient to keep Notre Dame independent until about 2030 or so. I think 2030 might be the Endgame. ** Edited by hokieZ71 at 7/16/2022, 9:50:48 PM

I want to agree with you. But I don't understand the wait.

ND might welcome some persuasion from Phil Knight**

Thing is, Phil Knight is 84 years old.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the ACC make a move.

If I had to guess, the B1X's next move depends on when ND finally commits
EDGEMAN 07/17/22 09:38 AM ET
When ND jumps, it will be to the Big 10.
Atlee Hokie 07/17/22 09:49 AM ET
Pretty clear money is a main driver for ND, so...
EDGEMAN 07/17/22 10:35 AM ET
