The "moral grounds" is an interesting position for Notre Dame to take

given the principles the school was founded on. Then again, the position Notre Dame has taken WRT the football program raises a whole bunch of philosophical discussions/debates given that Notre Dame was founded as a religious school. As Spok might say/ask, "The needs of the 1 outweigh the needs of the many?"

Whether Notre Dame (more specifically the people in decision making roles) are making the right or wrong decision, I cannot say. Honestly, I don't believe it is my place to pass judgment on whatever decision Notre Dame makes on this issue. Instead I leave that responsibility to a higher power to make at some point in the future. At least I'm assuming that the entire Notre Dame leadership believes that each one of them will be judged when they die.

Great questions, I would love to know the answers.**

Tech plays Notre Dame more than every football team in the ACC Atlantic...
Old Line Hokie 01/25/22 07:21 PM ET
They are just another football team.
RTFC 01/26/22 08:26 PM ET
ND isn't going to join a G5 conference. It will be the B1X
EDGEMAN 01/26/22 07:14 AM ET
Even if the Big Ten and SEC decide to treat the all athletes as employees?**
VTHokie2000 01/26/22 08:41 PM ET
Exactly, though I can see the SEC and B1G doing that and ND

So, God doesn't like football independents?
TerryD 01/27/22 03:59 PM ET
I can't say what God does or doesn't like. Plus, I wouldn't assume

Thanks. Like I have noted in a previous post, I don't have a problem
VTHokie2000 01/27/22 11:48 PM ET
The points you make are a struggle for me personally.
goldendomer 01/28/22 10:12 AM ET
I agree with the competing interest, we all have them, but usually survival
Stech 01/28/22 07:37 AM ET
I doubt ND would want the auto bid by adding Navy plus one
TerryD 01/28/22 12:20 PM ET
You don't want any of this, I get it. As far as VT and ACC yes we would
Stech 01/29/22 11:01 AM ET
It would merely cause more anti-ND resentment...
TerryD 01/29/22 11:58 AM ET
ACC wants to play you more, would be a move in the right direction for ACC.
Stech 01/29/22 12:10 PM ET
Side-note, our endowment leapt 7 billion that past year.
goldendomer 01/28/22 10:11 AM ET
Yes, I would agree with you that large of an endowment is insane

Agree with all of that, precisely my point.**
RTFC 01/26/22 10:08 PM ET
The math is a guess. In general it would add more games
goldendomer 01/25/22 07:04 PM ET
ACC would also get whatever the updated market value is

I feel like ESPN/ABC picking up that SEC piece from CBS and adding OU/TU
