Remember that SEC only plays 8 conf games (as does ACC). BIG and B12 play 9

All this SEC talk has been their smoke and mirrors approach for a long time. Play only 8 in conference but talk it up as if their 8 games are harder than 9 for anyone else. Then prop up the teams that finish with 2 or 3 losses even though their wins are boosted by a bigger OOC schedule. Just one example. Missouri at 7-3 played OOC: Murray St. Buffalo Boston College UMass and side question, if Washington State ends up 10-2 are they in from the PAC? This would also maybe bump an ACC/B12 team. ** Edited by HokieAl at 11/18/2024, 12:04:55 PM

I don't think there are 12 teams capable.

I disagree. The purpose of the playoff is to make money

I understand why they did it. But you'll never hear any justification for

Yes, it was designed to generate more money for the P2 conferences.

The problem with the SEC, as Saban said, with the Portal there’s no depth.

IMO, they should give up CGs across the board for a 13th game for everyone.
Maroon Baboon 11/18/24 11:12 AM ET
We don't even need a 13th reg. season game. It's superfluous.

FWIW the bylaws have a provision that allows a team to play a 13th regular
