While I agree with the sentiment

it would backfire spectacularly. Forcing them to schedule even more marquee games is not going to make 11-1 TCU vs 10-2 Pitt any more exciting. A Texas-Michigan regular season game will get better ratings than a championship game in the next tier, no matter who plays in it. We have no leverage with football until our on field product improves and more of our fans watch the games. Shutting them out of March Madness is our bargaining chip. With the basketball-first/only schools and conferences, we have the numbers.
