Yes and they should. In 2003 UVA had nothing to lose by

supporting VT. The Hoos were an ACC pillar and that was not going change even if expansion fell through. In this scenario UVA should not feel the need to sacrifice millions in additional dollars to protect VT. UNC and NC State relationship is somewhat different because they are both part of the same university system.
