This is not a shot at you manassas, several people have made this statement. I would love someone to explain how "not football driven" expansion will increase payouts. Football is the money maker. Maybe there are no football schools that will bring enough to expand a conference, but in what universe are networks going to pay the kind of money (say $70M for example) to an additional conference member team that only brings a basketball, baseball, soccer, etc. program? Those don't pay the bills. Other than March madness, the interest in college basketball is declining imo, so that can't be the money maker. The only way I see other non-revenue sports being a factor would be a total breakaway by the top 60 or so schools from the NCAA.
