Remember one of the great Eastwood western lines from Unforgiven?

"Deserves got nothing to do with it." IMHO if the $150,000 to $200,000 figure is right, then that should be adequate compensation. If playing sports requires more of a student to require more than that, the rules should be changed to bring in back in line. Heck if that cuts out required work outs, spring practice of a whole host of other things, so be it. If that were done, the players would in no way be NFL ready but then again preparing them for the nfl is something the student players should have to pay for just like non athlete students pay to be prepared to enter their chosen careers. I know, I know you can't put the toothpaste back into the tube. But maybe we can. Lets let the P2 have whomever wants to be in the P2 then kick them out to form their own unionized employee subsidiary of the school while the rest of us return to sports being subjugated to academics. I can dream can't I?
