Complacency kills. He should have done a better preflight before that...
...last spin around the neighborhood. It was probably like the Challenger space shuttle accident. I'm sure that wasn't the first time they had issues, but decided they weren't bad enough to make any changes...until it was.

That is beyond COOL!! If it is meant as a toy, that may be the GREATEST->
"toy" of all time! With just 17 minutes of battery life, a toy is all it could be used for...but that is one BAD-ASS toy!

That looks super cool to me. As long as there is some kind of ceiling where
you can't fly over 50? 100? feet high, I don't see how these are anymore dangerous than what vehicular traffic is today. If somebody lost it in one of those and landed on your roof, I don't think it would break through the rafters. Of course, if it landed on you sitting on your patio, you would have problems, but you can be hit by a car walking down the street too. Maybe they could be restricted to rural areas at first, and let technology catch up to safety concerns.

The biggest worry about ceiling is how far you'll drop when...
...the batteries run out of juice...lol But would guess it has big red flashing lights when you get under something like a 20% state of charge.

I imagine the liability insurance will be outrageous if there is no...

I flew in 100+ photoflights in the pre-drone era and IMO this is
reckless. Too susceptible to idiots with $$$ and crooks with malintent. FAA needs a heel on that throat.

How long until the FAA revises its regulations and renders these useless?
