Glenelg MD is just up the road from me, been through there
a few times, otoh, I don't see it as something that's hard to pronounce "Glen-elg" Maybe I better check?

I think it is Chillicothy. I'm not positive, and I should know. I've been
through tons of times. My dad's family is from about 40 minutes away. I believe Gallipolis is Galluh-pollis, but also not positive.

I was wrong on Gallipolis. But that's because I always said it the
correct way, and some wimminz from there corrected me.

Near us we have Monroe, correctly pronounced, they say, as "MUN-roe"
and Cherryville, which, of course, is "CHURR-vull".

Huh. Similar here in MON-roe County Florida. Like Jamaican, "Hey, Mon".
I used to be a run of the mill mon-ROE guy, but I'm a hip local now.

Both Nebraska and Virginia could be Norfolk

I swear my wife has the most neutral, non-specific accent possible
until she says the word Norfolk. She grew up there and definitely pronounces it like a local.

...we don't smoke, Norfolk, Norfolk"
