Six states, all in the northwest, joined the union under Benjamin Harrison. They were North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Washington. Of those, Washington now has a reasonable population, but the other five only have seven Congressional districts between them.

Wasn't he dead before the end of the war? And I wonder how the history
books judge "Did those states ever leave?" If the interpretation is "They wanted to, but weren't legally allowed to, so therefore they never actually left" then rejoin won't count.

April 9th was Lee's surrender. Lincoln was shot on the 14th
died the morning of the 15th.

I DID look up the dates. Lincoln was shot about a week after the war
officially ended.
