Scenes from Wyoming
Wyoming never fails to impress - it's incredibly vast (and takes a ridiculously long time to cross in any direction), has every type of landscape you can imagine, and can be a little intimidating with how empty it is.
1 - Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area (WY/MT border) - decent views and great for boating but not much else
2 - spring runoff has the Bighorn River running high through the canyon
3 - dinosaur tracks
4 - some of the most colorful badlands I've ever seen

it’s a refreshing pause from the media world that preys upon us hourly. I have no connection to Wyoming at all, never been there, but reading about the lives of Wyoming people is rewarding.

in Jackson. Would welcome any suggestions. It's been a crazy spring so I've done almost no planning but need to get on that this weekend. 2 families, 4 adults and 4 kids, ages 6, 7, 9, 9

I've not been to Bozeman but do have plans to visit - the Museum of the Rockies is highly recommended. Otherwise I'd say just get out and do some hikes - the AllTrails app is your friend. Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons are full of good ones, and there are several national forests in the area where trails might be less crowded. It's worth getting the kids up early to go see sunrise on the Tetons from one of the overlooks along US 191.

My hikes up into the valleys at Jackson Hole were the best of my life, although I'm hard pressed to choose between Montana and Wyoming, both states pull me to them, always. I'm positive that when I die my soul will leave my body and go there, without me. ;-)
