Just read over my daughter's senior night write up for this Friday....
Lost it just sitting at the table. Thank goodness I am only announcing the pre-game, first quarter and 4th. I am definitely not ready for this.

We live 10 miles from campus. We know of the Hope Scholarship but don't....
Think we qualify for it. Hannah's advisor said apply for it anyway along with everything financial related that Hollins provides before the FASAH. We already have gotten a giant hometown discount without her accolades and grades. As of now we are less than what a year at tech costs.

Daughter got accepted into Hollins University today for fall 2026...
Semester. So glad that part is out of the way. Now she can focus on obtaining scholarships the rest of the year.

Apparently yes they do. K-State upset UNC Friday night, ECU was scheduled..
To play UNC Sunday so K-State and ECU agreed to a neutral site extra match Saturday night since K-State wasn't flying back home until Sunday morning.
I have mentioned her before but Caleigh Ponn from Hidden Valley plays for K-State and has worked her way into the starting lineup as a freshman.
The K-State volleyball parents we hung out with were absolutely some of the nicest most down to earth people we have ever met.

Funny unc story from Saturday night. We were at Carmichael Auditorium....
Watching K-State play Ecu in Volleyball when the UNC football game ended. The PA guy announced the final like his dog passed away, the crowd that was there 300 or 400 erupted with applause. The UNC folks got a kick out it and the PA guy jokingly announced he was calling for extra security to escort everyone out.

I bought this from an antique mall in Rocky Mount last week. The guy I.....
Bought it from said it was when Tech played VMI at Victory Stadium. His dad went every year and he has more at his house. The date and time matches exactly, I just wish I had more of the ticket.

Hidden Valley has a new football coach, he called me yesterday to go over a few announcing changes for the year. We played Staunton River last night.
Only noticeable change was we have a paid third down sponsor who donated rally towels when the team is on defense to get the crowd involved. I have to read a small sponsor script to hype the crowd up, no problem it's 15 seconds at most.
Apparently I have a mental lapse and I look at the scoreboard and see it's 3rd down. I do the sponsor script and realized we are on offense. Oops. My spotter couldn't stop laughing.
The band is supposed to be involved and I confused the hell out of them too.
We lost 37-7 so we all got a good laugh out of my goof.

Our band concession stand is going to do a speciality food item each.....
Game. On the menu it is called the Galyen Superior Gameday Special. Band director inside joke. Each special has to be named after a song.
For homecoming we are doing homemade chili. We are going to call it Classical Gas. Think that will work?

Concessions manager for tonight's football game and we heard multiple transformers blow. The rain wasn't the only scary thing that lightning was fast and consistent.

That was fun. 5 inches of rain in my hood last night in Roanoke....
Picked my daughter up from band practice at 530, ran to Walmart, by the time we hit Outback at Hunting Hills it was pouring. Didn't stop pouring until after 10. Tanglewood Mall parking lot flooded, but downtown and Peter's Creek area was hit the hardest.

Hidden Valley High School. This is known as the cousins cap and gown....
In our family. My two nieces wore this when they graduated from HV so it got passed down to us to use.

I got the notice while I was at the Red Sox game with the marching band.
Just freaking turned 50 a couple months ago. Was looking forward to celebrating his son's senior year. Way too damn young.

Neighbor of mine was in a freak accident on Sunday currently in the hospital unfortunately not expected to make it.
Just talked to him a couple weeks ago. Our kids are in the same grade and we have known each other well over 20 years. Dude just turned 50. Life is way too short.

Construction for the stadium and upgrades to the metro to get to new stadium probably 5 years before they open?
I am happy I won't have to walk anymore from Morgan Blvd stop up that big arse hill to the stadium.

Brisket was fine. I got sliced, wife and daughter got chopped both good....
Pulled pork was good but nothing spectacular. Buccees chips were great. They had Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar on fountain. First time I have seen that in Virginia.

Buccees in Harrisonburg was expected. Busy but manageable if you are....
Patient. Getting in was a breeze it has it's own access road from the 81 north exit. Getting out was a pain but that was expected. Got a brisket and pulled pork sammich. It was only 1 hr 35 minutes from my house.

I usually check ebay, fb marketplace or the teams i follow on a regular basis for jersey sales. The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs had their yard sale in April, I picked up an emergency goalie unnamed gamer for $89 and a practice jersey for $10

@gr8fuljj here are the pictures of the two gamers i got yesterday..
I am off tomorrow, I should be able to post more of what I have. My limit for gamers is $300. As long as I can still get Adidas jerseys online I won't buy the Fanatics ones until I absolutely have to. I will have to check the Oilers auctions just to see how much someone will actually pay.

The Canes had about 75 available, the blank practice ones were $75 each....
The gamers ranged from $175 to $400, most of them were $200. All adidas and reebok made in canada.
The non Canadian Indonesia jerseys were $150, why wouldn't you go for the gamers?
Both Toronto and Carolina was open to the public. The Leafs only had merchandise and non- gamer jerseys and theirs was at the arena team store, the Canes sale was on the floor of the arena.
I have about 15 game used jerseys, 2 football, 2 baseball, the rest hockey. When I get home I can take pictures of the ones I bought yesterday.

Two Saturdays, two different NHL teams end of season sale. One much....
Better than the other.
Last Saturday we went to the Maple Leafs sale at Scotiabank Arena. Got a 2025 playoff sweatshirt for $15. Hat for $8, t-shirt for $5, 2 hockey pucks for $3 each. All Canadian dollars, with the conversion it was much cheaper. They didn't have any game used stuff
Today we went to the Hurricanes sale. We got 2 game used jerseys for $175 each, 2 beer hockey stick cups, $5 each, 2 popcorn Zambonis $15 each. Numerous hockey pucks $3 each. The shirts, hats, hoodies, were still way overpriced. It's the same playoff merchandise design just insert team here.
Funny how two different franchises with pretty large fan bases treat merchandise sales.

Renovation of the entire airport. It reminded me more of a giant mall.
I did wish I picked up a couple bags of Hal's New York deli chips. I was told by many at the airport they were terrific

Made it home despite the French trying to stop me. I was pleasantly.....
Surprised how nice and modern La Guardia was, compared to other airports I have been to.
Had my first authentic New York slice, it was very good. The water show in the middle of terminal B was something you would see in Vegas. My daughter recorded the whole thing. I will post it later.

Approved for over 3 trillion dollars in loans all with no payment for 90 days. Yesterday was a new record 15, all were blocked and all left VM. So much for the do not call list.

Extra curricular activities Hollins has already knocked off 33k.
We haven't had the second indepth meeting with Roanoke yet. They want her for marching band. She is still on the fence about trying to toggle college and travel with the band. That meeting will be sometime before school starts in August. It's not a bad thing to have two small highly touted private schools in your backyard
