Get a Mitsubishi Hyper Heat unit and ditch the heat kit.

That sized I hope you paid no more than 6K. I use to buy Trane or American
Standard but lately been buying Goodman's on rental units based on the advice of H&A guy. Says he put same unit on momma's house. So far very good results.

There isn't a lot of difference in brands, especially "builder grades". ->
There are lik 3 companies who make compressors, 2-3 who make all the coils (condenser and evap). All the rest is relays, capacitors, etc..wrapped in the manufactures sheet metal and their logo. You want to get an efficient compressor and unit, but after that...close your eyes and pick one. One caveat...make sure the installing contractor is decent, as that makes a difference. Also, make sure replacement parts are available...

Mine was $14,000 as I added the air scrubber. Highly, highly recommend this. ** Edited by Stork at 5/17/2023, 3:41:09 PM

I just had a 2 ton air handler and heat pump installed, but not the thermo.
Took the old stuff with them. Parts & labor came to $5800. Carrier, not Trane.
