New AD top target is FAU AD Brian White per Pete Thamel
SIR. Just saw this.
Update: Ross Dellinger and Yahoo! saying the same thing.

Blacksburg. From a budgetary standpoint, FAU is probably closer to Cincy's budget than VT's budget. It will be interesting to see what vision he has for VT athletics and what percentage of the fan base is willing to buy into that vision. Hopefully things are a lot different than how they were during Babcock's tenure. VT athletics seems poised to turn a corner and get things moving in the right direction. It just needs the right person at the helm.

different.
Looks like we have turned a corner on hiring here. Positively optimistic moving forward.

In the industry. Iβm simply commenting about how a lot of coaching hires have family connections & apparently there is a bit of a family connection within the AD field as well. Iβm not offering a good or bad opinion about it. IIWII.

hard to break into. A great example are some of the most inept head coaches seemingly able to land on their feet anywhere they want to, or some of the most crooked able to glide in for a smooth landing.
Now, that being said, we could be getting stuck with a bill of goods just because of who he is, but it looks like he's got a good track record.

If not then itβs not nepotism.
Itβs called good bloodlines just like in athletes.
We just hired a very young yet accomplished future star AD who was hired by a committee containing James Franklin.
This guy is uber connected via he and his familyβs travels through college sports. Iβm relieved we hired a executive of his quality.

not scheduled to play on any future schedules either. The only way FAU will get to play any football games in TN is either playing a conference game at Memphis (both are members of the AAC), OOC game at Middle Tennessee (State), or a bowl game.

money game. Charlotte or Atlanta would probably sell out.
Personally, I like Atlanta better; this old man doesnβt have to sit in the sun. π

they believe they are way too good to stoop to VTs level even with the brother to brother connection now in place. But who know I could be wrong, Iβm not wrong that they have the most insufferable fan base in the world though.
