On a serious note, I think conference championships are obsolete with Notre Dame not playing in one.

I could see 16 without byes. 8 teams without byes would be my preference. There are already too many blowouts but that could change.

Top 8 teams get a first round bye, so you have 8 games in week 1, 8 in week 2, 4 in week 3, 2 in week 4, 1 in week 5.
