247 is more accurrate than On3. On3 includes rankings outgoing portal
players. Don't know why On3 does that, should not be included in the ratings. And On3 includes potential future NFL success. ** Edited by carhokies at 1/14/2026, 5:23:56 PM

I like On3 because what they’re doing is comparing outgoing talent vs
Incoming

On3 is a comparison. 247 is a ranking. Neither is great but 247 is better
Who cares what inconsequential bench-warmers have left? You're only gonna play 60 or so of 105. Most of those remaining guys will likely transfer down at some point.

That's why it's less accurate. I prefer 247, been around much longer,
well respected, and used heavily by coaches. On3 is fairly new. No way LSU is #1 and TX #2 in 247, and very low ranking in On3 with all the high talent transferring to both teams. No way VT is higher than #1 LSU and #2 TX. Those 2 sites are very far apart in rankings. Just would like to look at ranking/talent of players coming in, that's it, and not include all the other numbers and rankings of outgoing transfer players and NFL potential like On3. I guess it's a matter of preference, thus multiple sites to look at. Glad that VT is ranked high both sites, Franklin is off to a great start. ** Edited by carhokies at 1/15/2026, 3:37:52 AM

No rankings are “accurate” when talking recruiting

Rankings are largely useless,......
aside from making money, most of the time for guys good at math without having actually played the game at any significant level.
