Early innovator in the current college O environment but it’s no longer…
Unique. Everyone runs some kind of read option and/or RPO. He’s what Frank Beamer was to special teams and then other teams caught up. Good luck to Brent Keys managing his ego as he will likely try to take the spotlight off the HC. Two alphas rarely coexist well or for long.

He was just fired as HC, so he must suck as an OC too

In fairness, he has called offensive plays every single football season for
the last 26 years, with the exception of 2017 when he was a tv analyst. So, yeah, not a good comparison, at least when looking at the arguments I've made but appreciate the humor nonetheless.

I think you meant to say the Las Vegas Raiders fired him in 2025 as their
OC because his last HC gig was in 2023 with UCLA. He spent 2024 as OC and QB coach at Ohio State before moving on to Las Vegas.

Nah, I just need reading comprehension. Wrong Kelly

Well, if you meant Brian Kelly being interviewed for the OC would most
certainly be a bad decision considering he came from the defensive side of the ball and has never been an offensive position coach, let alone an offensive coordinator.

Besides that Brian Kelly has a 6-21 record against top 10 teams.
That’s kinda Franklinesque.
