yes was 'asked' on the pry hire, but
1. he had no idea on the salary cap for VT (and that cap was acceptable by the University), We got want we paid. (silly though many VT fans think 4 million is alot, not realizing that their peers were leaving them in the dust.
2 So many fans have no idea that college football is big business and the entire VT athetic dept was run like a mom and pop operatoin,. WHile the BOV of gives the money, now the ugly reorganization of the athletic dept occurs NOW. while VT has to deliver product with games, for all sports, pay staff, cut the lights on., etc etc. etc. and the athletic dept staff knows many of their jobs will be gone

Itâs why I think the GM hire needs to be an NFL guy because theyâve had that exposure to business side of the game.

Player personnel, football gm and role of athletic director, coorporate recruiting both portal and high school and managing player worth and value. all new terms.
High school recruiting will be different, the local state u visit to every high school. Its just bottom line get the best players WHEREVER and have resources to acquire the talent and keep it and translate it wins. wins wins.

Or at least a guy who will have connections to that hire. Luv his insight on a coaching hire too. Heâs outside the Beamer-sphere bringing a different perspective that was successful at the highest level. This is in line with what I was hoping to see, but no he will not be coaching VT.
