Question regarding handicap parking
I have a family member who has limited mobility who we are bringing to the game Saturday. He has a handicap placard that we can use to hopefully park close to the stadium for the game. How does handicap parking work for the games? Is it basically first come first served? Would we need anything beyond the handicap pass to use one of the handicap parking spots?

My mother has increasingly limited mobility. She walks slowly and does handicapped parking. As noted below, you have to park in the lots and ride a bus. The bigger issue is inside the stadium. My father had called about accommodations inside the stadium. Best you can do it hope you find one of the few carts to help you. They dropped season tickets they've had since 1984 this year. Just not worth it. Realizing the stadium can't accommodate everyone plus the product is definitely not the same.

haven't been sued. There is no where enough ADA parking in Lot 1 so if you don't get to the basketball games very early you have to walk a lot farther than people with mobility issues should have to.

He was in charge of ADA compliance for a large school system. His assessment was there is no way VT is close to compliance in several areas.

at the time the facility was either built or last modified? If VT has not been sued for violating the ADA, then that could be a possible explanation.

Most businesses do not know this and are not in compliance.

Drop off at South Endzone. After the game, it's a giant mess because the busses can't get back through traffic and the exodus from Lot 2. Typically only two wheelchairs per bus. Hopefully they are enforcing having a ticket to get back on the bus, but we suspected that many were cheating in past years. Frustrating indeed. Pack your patience, unless you leave early you likely be stuck waiting. Another reason I gave up going. VT nor Blacksburg Transit never really cared about suggestions.

There isn't a lot of parking on campus near the stadium, however they have several satellite parking around. They have a ton of buses that serve each of them. Parking is free, and $5 gets a round trip on the bus. After the game there are a number of busses getting folks to their respective parking lot.
They do not have many RV'ers, but our group used to go down a lot. RV's are put in a far corner of the Friday center.

Tennessee also handles ADA well for football and women’s basketball. Also no paying for parking for ADA in TN. Greensboro Coliseum is awesome with ADA.

The busses are usually in place when the games end, but the busses getting back for additional pickups is bad news,
Ditto for the golf cart shuttles for donor lots around the stadium.
