Has Whit improved Virginia Tech Athletics during is tenure?
Are we more or less successful overall?

It's a complicated question. Arguably...
...you could say MBB, WBB, softball, and baseball have all reached unprecedented heights under his tenure. And he deserves credit for most of that (probably not softball, which benefits from an angel investor and made a WCWS prior to his arrival). But...he has failed at overseeing the football program. And, what's maybe worse, is he did nothing to parlay the successes in the other sports into something sustained. MBB seems poised for a calamitous season. Baseball is going nowhere. He let the WBB program pack up and move to Lexington in the middle of the night. The stuff we're still good at (wrestling, softball, T&F, and to an extent women's soccer) essentially pre-dates him. It just doesn't feel like things are being run very well. Maybe it will turn around. But I don't really have confidence Babcock is the guy to lead that turnaround.

He has made VT more like UVA in sports

Yes - but
he has killed the golden goose - FOOTBALL!!!!! Priority one to fund the entire program so I would not be looking at success as you seem to be.

Yes. Do you not remember the end of the Weaver regime?
I have an idea... let's stop the "Fire the AD" after every close FB or MBB loss. Let's instead discuss the real problems: - time management - D needs to get one more stop

How do you propose to fix these issues?
If you made the same mistakes in a job for three straight years, would you expect your bosses to keep the status quo or to maybe look for a replacement because it's just not working?

Baseball? WBB? T&F? Soccer?
Not saying these are driving the bus like Football and MBB.

Wasn't track just as successful prior to Babcock? If so, then track may be
a push at best.

Baseball no. Blip a couple years ago up but it’s flat or downward trend now

Somewhat, but football and a lesser extent men's basketball are the more
important sports when determining metrics for an AD.
