So MY spends half a decade building a relationship, gets the kid to Blacksburg. He preforms well when asked and then we don’t have the funds to retain him (what is sounds like at least, who know for sure). There has to be some sales analogy or lesson learned here. So much investment to let him walk after one year.

360ish D1 basketball programs top 36 = top 10%. 32 teams make the 2nd round of the NCAA basketball tourney. Rough numbers but fairly equivalent.

A 1st round win at the NCAA basketball tourney. Am I wrong on that? There are just not that many wrestling programs.

I don’t think we will be lucky enough to have him around much longer…Read the Seth Greenberg article Will posted recently to remind yourself it’s HARD to win here. It’s exceptionally hard to win in the ACC. We are middle of the pack, which is frankly where we would be with any coach most years over the last 15 year. Buzz was Buzz, but I think an upgrade at this point will be a shot in the dark. Y'all need some prospective. John Feinstein’s last book on college basketball would be a good read for many here. This is much better than the days when we were just trying to qualify for the Big East Tournament.
