Like I've said all along, not ACC quality, but could be at lower level.

His HC, Takeo Siddle, is a real up and comer.

Is Dorn an upgrade over Big Pat?

Yes. Especially when comparing them during freshman seasons.
I hope VT is able to be patient with Dorn, and he wants to stay. Like a lot of big guys, he just needs time and experience.

Oh yes. Pat may be a little better finisher on O
But Dorn is rangier, better defender & screener. Pat didn’t play until year 3; Dorn has helped us in year 1. He helped us be in position to beat SMU vs the big Turk

He also has a "man's body." Dorn doesn't get pushed around.

Good for him
Gurdak has a higher ceiling and he’s just as good now as Pat was here last year

Better really. Nothing but wishing Pat goodness with that said

Gurdak has really impressed me and has a much higher ceiling than Pat.
Glad to hear Wessler is doing so well at UNCW but Gurdak is a star in the making. I'll never forget his 17 points/19 rebounds against Virginia this season. He really is agile for his size and has nice feet and hands. I hope we can keep him for 4 years. ** Edited by YBYSAIAHokie at 2/26/2026, 12:54:03 PM

Gurdak way better this year then Pat last year.
I think a better comparison for Pat is Dorn.

Oh, no question Gurdak is better, particularly in CMY's system. Pat . . .
. . . hasn't made one three this season. He plays a very traditional "5" at UNCW. His transfer was good for all concerned. ** Edited by MidloHokie at 2/26/2026, 8:28:54 AM ** Edited by MidloHokie at 2/26/2026, 8:29:17 AM
