I will always ride with Mike Young, and everyone should, but….
It’s time that Mike seriously addresses his system’s weakness. During the offseason, tech went out and got the athleticism required to play at a faster tempo, but we are yet to see this happen in game. In fact, according to kem Pom tech is playing at a slower tempo than last year… Mike has got to speed up the offense and take advantage of teams when they press. I largely attribute the slow tempo to the lack of experience at pg, but physical teams and teams that play cardio crazy have always dismantled the tech offense throughout Mike’s tenure here.
Mike’s staff has faced an overwhelming amount of terrible luck and adversity the last few years, so we have really never seen his true potential. I fear his retirement is imminent, but would encourage tech to give him one season with “a blank check” and just see how it goes, I think the true culprit of Tech’s struggles would be revealed…….

CMY is not allowed that luxury since we've inexplicitly lost that opportunity (players) in the last two years.

this team was undersized, not that talented and their three leading scorers, Pedulla, Cattor and Kidd left. If this is puzzling, you might want to put the board game, "Clue" on your Christmas list and keep playing it until this mystery becomes less mysterious.
I still think Mike Young is an excellent coach. Maybe he bears some responsibility for the roster limitations, but this should be a VERY EASY thing to fix with a reasonable amount of resources. Mike Young can take most team's bench in the ACC and hang.
This is due to some bad luck, but mostly due to the rudderless, idiotic, mismanaged SH*T show of an athletic department that Whit runs. I keep posting this and the situation gets worse and worse and I get pissed off more and more.
Mike Young's teams typically have some of the best assist to turnover ratios in college basketball. Did he forget how to coach? No?
Would bringing in anyone make this better? No
Would kicking the AD's butt to the curb help? It sure couldn't hurt!
Please tell me how I'm wrong?

They have played 71.5 possessions per game this season
71.5 possessions per game would have VT finish 125th in pace of play last year...they finished 250th
No, they are not playing slower

I forget the formula, but I think it's like .4 per OReb but also divided by opponents OReb

he arrived at VT. He is also too old of a dog to learn new tricks. I think he is going to try to make his system work in this new era, but if it doesn't he will retire.
