technically they didn't do anything wrong. They broke a system because the system was poorly designed. Even many of the larger market clubs (Mets, Cubs, etc) can't stand what the Dodgers have done, and as a result, there will quite possibly be no baseball for a large part of 2027. The players love it because it forces other clubs to 'overpay' but it tilts the competitive balance so badly that the entire sport is impacted.
MLB will get some sort of salary cap and salary floor - that is the only way to make everyone 'happy'. The Dodgers have smart ownership with what seems to be limit-less resources and they will find a way around the new system too.
