He's actually playing more than Darius Maddox did as a freshmen, and then Maddox became a solid contributor the very next season. I'm a lot less convinced about Rechsteiner, though. Right now I'd say we need two starting guards to replace Cattoor and Collins, and Collins' role next year will be coming off the bench not only at the 2/3, but at the 1 as well. That's basically what he's doing now, except he's starting and playing way too many minutes. Crazy what's happened to our guard depth. We've had three players who would be starting for us instead of Collins who are all playing elsewhere or waiting to transfer: Radford, Maddox and Rice. It's unfortunate what's happened there. Radford has issues, obviously. Maddox's family situation was legit and I don't blame him for wanting to get back to DC. Young could take the blame for Rice because, in hindsight, maybe hiring Jones wasn't a great decision. However, I bet if Rice was making regular starting NIL money he wouldn't have left after the semester like that. So lots of turnover at that one position, and that is by far our biggest issue.
