think he left when the glove went up instead of waiting for the catch

with no outs it was smart to tag regardless but you can't leave early.. if that was the second out and your fast trying to go all the way home... maybe?

i can't stand dragging the pivot foot

it's impossible to guard when they slide the pivot foot around ** Edited by VermontDDS at 3/21/2026, 10:48:58 PM

I hope MY can get 5 starters that fit his system

lawal was never a great match. Mutts was a better version. Neo's two man game was forced into the offense. Hansberry recovery will be an unpredictable issue as you stated cause we need a 3 and 4 to start the season for the portal regardless if most return

the good thing with Sears... they should know her ability

i think they need more size in the portal. We have to get taller positions 5-3. We don't necessarily needs starters but versatile options for when teams bring a lot of height.

great post, i think VT was a one trick pony this season

when they got the ball moving in transition they excelled. When they other team drop back and could stop the initial drive to the basket r, we struggled. We have a lot of similar players which is great for depth but don't really have a versatile attack. You brought up Carleigh, her offseason goal should be more efficient. The Oregon guard scored 20 points but did it shooting 75% Scoring 20 points is great but if you shoot under 50% its waste a lot of possession. ** Edited by VermontDDS at 3/21/2026, 11:51:45 AM

besides Baker I don't know who would be sought after?

People might leave to try something different but not sure anyone would leave to play more.

need some quickness to guard

she is struggling.. but sure who could do better on defense

credit it Oregon, they are exposing our weaknesses

We thought this was the best 8 seed match up. after watching today i think this was an awful match up.

we stuck with guards that can run the floor

the problem is better teams have stop us from running. really good teams are versatile and can score in the paint one on one. Not VT strength this season

wrong thread but i have a question

if a player like Neo wants to focus on training for the draft and drops out of school ... does that effect VT? I know the portal players are guaranteed their scholarships through the semester and need the grades to transfer, but the players only interested in basketball probably don't want to take classes and train off campus.

WBB plays better when going down hill... when they get slowed down

They are not their best in the half court offense. Freelon is not a threat in the half court with the ball in her hand. The zone was an issue for similar reasons. you might disagree but if we get bogged down into a slow half court game..VT needs to shoot around 30% from 3

a true freshman as the primary ball handler is not ideal

it wasn't meant to be a shot at Ben but having a true freshman deal with constant pressure up the court is a recipe for trouble. I'm not sure VT is in position to deal with growing pains. The Stanford guard was very good this season as a freshman, do you think this kids would be able to hold the fort if VT needed?

we are going to need a back up.... but a freshman?

would we need more experience just in case Hammond has to miss tim. VT would be relying on a true freshman. It's a redo of the problems from 2024-25 season.

if VT can't push the pace they need to shoot better from 3

a long break is normally bad but when your shooting less then 25% from 3 towards the end of the season, a reset might help.

WBB big portal addition was someone they played against in the NIT

I wonder if Freelon is on the team if we didn't play them in the NIT. I could be wrong but I think she was surprised how well the fans supported the program as a reason. to transfer.

their 9 hitter drove in the game winning run last night

i don't want to trash Rose, let's just hope she gets her opportunity and takes advantage several time this season

The team could have benefited from playing the NIT

Players have to do what's best for them, so let's get that out of the way Having more practices and gametime with the young core would have beneficial. The only missing piece would have been Hansberry. Hammond, Schutt, Johnson, Gurdak ( hypothetical Hansberry) got very limited time together. Seeing that group play well in the NIT would have been helpful for the donor group to be encouraged about next year. I worry the donations might not be enthusiastic after this years performance.
