I'm only interested in the top tier of college football
And only if VT is in it. Anything that moves VT down to a lower tier has me checking out of college football altogether. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few fans at quite a few schools that feel that way.
While this model may sound like opportunities for others to win a championship I don't see it that way. It would be the equivalent of winning the NIT. It's nice, but not really relevant. Only the top most tier really counts. I don't watch FCS, D2, etc. championships for a reason.

Most is Great Lakes, but I believe there is a small river stretch near Detroit. Was going to gobwith NH too, but was beat to it.

Had Buckner made the play
The game would have gone to the next inning. It was already tied up after a wild pitch allowed the runner at 3rd to tie the game. A lot of people mistakingly believe the Red Sox win immediately if Buckner makes the play. That is incorrect.

I can't remember if it was a Bronze Star.
He receiced it for attempting to climb down out of the helicopter to get an injured patient while under fire
He didn't want it because he wasn't actually able to climb down, and wasn't able to find out if the injured soldier ever made it out.
He ended up giving it to one of his patients telling him it is something they give for getting your butt out in one piece.

In all honesty
The username made sense for me. I grew up ski racing in Vermont and went to Virginia Tech. So it has a good double meaning.

The reality is the money doesn't get redirected; it just goes away. The millions of $ in conference payout disappears. The revenue from games disappears. The donations dry up. We'd like to believe people would donate to academics instead, but they won't. People donate for football seats and season tickets. Then there will be less revenue for the other sports, which would further strain the budgets. So it's more likely that athletic fees for students would increase, meaning students would end up paying more.
