Apparently died

in his sleep. I am only one year younger than him.

The Lounge 4 y ago

I actually

physically shuddered when that picture popped up.

My dad was born

on May 22,1934. He celebrated his 88th birthday yesterday.

I know that house. We have friends who also live

in that area of the neighborhood. We live at 57 Mountain Trace Pointe. Just put a new swimming pool in the back yard...long process.

In high school,I ran

indoor track with a guy who had the best 500 yd time in the state of Virginia. However,in practice,he would goof off and not work hard when the coaches were not watching. I remember that we had the state indoor championships at VMI. In the finals, the guy on my team started off well in the 500,but faded due to not being in the best shape and he lost the race. That was in 1973 and it has stuck in my mind all of these years...he blew a great opportunity because he was too lazy to work hard and reach his potential.

I have lived

in Dahlonega for 1 1/2 years. Love it here!

Congrats! I was a

sprinter in my younger days. I hated anything more than a 220 yd dash!

One thing to keep in mind

about Kia and Hyundai cars is that they are becoming very popular targets for car thieves. Apparently the ignition system for both is easy for them to quickly break into and start the car.

I read that it is

officially classified as a motorcycle and that there are 15,000 pre-orders. Apparently it may not be available until 2024 and the first orders will be filled for those living in California.

I was sitting out

last night beside my pool listening to the water fall into the pool from the hot tub. I am doing the same right now, then heading down to the golf course in a few hours.

MY wife played a lot

of tennis over the years. A few years ago she started playing pickleball. She ended up pulling a couple of muscles early on because she was making quicker movements than in tennis. Just a warning....

My grandfather

only had an 8th grade education(born in 1911). However,he was a smart man and had a natural ability to draw. When I was a kid,he would draw cartoons for me that looked like they were right out of the newspaper. In the 1930s,he was offered a job by Walt Disney to be a movie cartoonist/animator. He turned the job down because he did not want to move from NC to California. If he had accepted the job,he would have probably worked on some of the most famous animated movies in history.

That home will appeal to

a very niche market...such as a prince from Casablanca. My home in the N.Georgia mountains is half the price and much more appealing to the average person who wants to live in the mountains.

If you drive

1,000,depending on the gas mileage of your car,you may pay $200+ just for gas. Plus, you have wear and tear on your car and yourself...and hotel costs. To me,it would be well worth $1,000 to fly.

The Lounge 4 y ago

My first was

12.0% in 1983...and that was a little under market. FHA,as I recall.

The Lounge 4 y ago

I bought my home

in September 2020(N.Georgia mountains) for $650k. The estimated value currently is $950k - $1 million. Crazy....

The Lounge 4 y ago

I preferred the

1980s version of Victoria Principal....

Interesting point...

over 100 years ago only rich people ate white bread because it was more expensive to process.

The Lounge 4 y ago

I live in Dahlonega. A few

miles north of Dawsonville. Ashley McBride..."Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega".

The Lounge 4 y ago

I retired at

56. Still going strong,I think,at 66. No one is promised tomorrow....

She looks

pretty good to have been dead for 15 years....

The Lounge 4 y ago

I saw a news report a little earlier where

she discussed having contemplated suicide in the past due to depression. Sounds like she likely followed through this time.

The Lounge 4 y ago

The family reported that she died from

mental illness. I`m not sure if that meant dementia or something else.

Both my son and my

son in law have Traeger pellet grills and love them. My son smokes a butt often.

The Lounge 4 y ago

I retired

10 years ago and have not looked back....

That has been

a marketing move for decades. I remember in a marketing class in my MBA program over 40 years ago,we were told that you reduce the size rather than increase the price. Of course, now adays,it seems that the size decreases and the price increases.

Several years

ago,I remember seeing TV commercials for a chemical that could be wiped on headlights to clear them up. Never tried it.

Many antibiotics are

manufactured in China. I use to work for one of the largest manufacturers of antibiotics in the world and they were produced in the U.S. However,it was much cheaper to produce them over seas,so they moved their facilities. Now,we are "paying the price".
