I had no idea how interesting Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is...

until I saw him on Jason Alexander's blog, "Really? No Really?". This interview is a year old, but fascinating. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it...

My folks (RIP) used a yardstick...not often, but it worked.

They always clearly explained why I was being punished and when the whippin' was done, it was done. No lingering anger or emotion from them. Lesson learned.

Sarlacc Man

Yes, I had to look up the name of this Star Wars creature.

Knee replacement update, 10-days later.

I'm still pleasantly surprised at the limited pain. Seeing improvements every day and crushing my PT, exercises, and bike sessions. Walking (limping) without cane nearly all the time but VERY careful. Nearly completely weaned myself off of the Oxy. Hope to drive soon. Scheduled to remove staples Friday.

Thanks MP4. Agree that PT is key!

My surgeon said that my knee was in very bad shape. Sometimes you can be so used to that pain that the surgery pain may not feel as bad, since you are used to it. Don't get me wrong, there is pain, just much less than I was anticipating.

Knee replaced Thursday and now I'm rehabbing! Uncomfortable procedure but

not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I've heard so many stories about very different reactions to this surgery. I'm thankful mine has been positive so far and I'm already looking forward to getting my other knee replaced later this year. Anxious to get back on the hiking trails!

You Hokie engineers should like this one...

And I find it interesting as an accountant, for some reason. ** Edited by Tank at 2/8/2026, 5:59:59 PM

Looks like an amazing trip! On a side note, if you like Dan Brown novels,

you may want to take a look at Secret of Secrets, which mostly takes place in Prague. He includes many Prague landmarks which has increased my interest in visiting the city.

I don't see how booing players helps your team to win. It seems

counterproductive activity as a fan. I've never been a big fan of booing to begin with. That being said, I have no issue complaining about a player on a message board or someplace where a player will not see it unless they are searching for it.. (My rationale is that, if a player is visiting TSL or searching on X, well that's on them.) But if you want your team to win a game, booing them serves no positive purpose.

While it's hard to say with certainty who was booing what, I thought

the fans were booing Neo. The play in question didn't involve an obvious missed call by the refs, if I remember correctly.

"Put your hand in the basket."

That's what I was always taught regarding follow-through when shooting. VT's Baker has that basic technique perfected. She always seems to put her hand in the basket.
