The state championship game vs. Mt. Vernon
PC held their own until Grantham went down in the 2nd half. Stud lineman played both ways. 83-84 +/-

I took an OSHA course on workplace safety a few yrs back. On average...
about one person a day dies in a work place accident involving a fall from height.

Whoa Stork. Almost all credit card transactions in Europe now...
Feature the "in which currency would you like to conduct this transaction?" scam. Preys on dumb tourists who feel safer using the USD option, which costs them 10-20% more.

Our 2019 Miami game
Tie game. 1:05 left and we have a 1st down inside the UM 5. Miami with 1 TO left. We could have run the clock down to 3 sec. and (Brian Johnson) kicked for the win, like Ill. did last night. But Fuente bit and McLease scored on the first play of the series. We're up by 7 with plenty of time left. It got wild and wooly from there. Here's the replay, which doesn't show the last play. It occurred after the ref declared the game over but then added back 1 second and UM got one more shot from our 10. Crazy game.

VA ABC story
I grew up in NOVA. In the 70s, just before holiday seasons, VA ABC agents would routinely go into DC and camp out in the liquor store parking lots. Observing license plates, they would wait for a Virginian to load up their car, and then follow them back across the Potomac where the unsuspecting criminals would be pulled over and the loot confiscated. When DC gov't got wind of this, a law was passed making it illegal for VA ABC agents to loiter in the District. This resulted in significant price reductions at VA ABC stores.

Late 70s at VT...no matter what was happening at 11:30pm on Saturdays...
you had to be in front of a TV.

2 HA's in the past 18 yrs
Started taking them after the 1st. They WILL lower your triglycerides and chol. No serious side effects - just some cramping. Don't like taking pills every day so I quit after about 6 yrs. Had a 2nd HA 10 yrs after the 1st. So I'll be taking them for the rest of my life. No biggie. 2nd one was only a stent - that Dr. also put me on a blood thinner + 1 baby aspirin. He promised I'd never have another. SFSG. Blood thinner means I bruise easily and cuts are slow to heal, which is not optimal. Main issue is if I hit my head I have to go to the hospital due to brain bleed potential. I'll take it.

Have a PT consulting gig here in Pinellas
Small office maybe 6-8. Still municipal clients but they do things different around here. Keeps me up to speed. And I'm the youngest in the group by 25 years. Often I can't keep up with the rapid banter.

A couple of ideas
Not sure which direction you're headed, but if I-81N, park on the opposite side of Main St. and go out by Nellies Cave Rd. or Harding and make your way to 81. Options are the church next to PKs, Eheart St., or the strip mall by Cookout. If I81S, maybe park at U Mall or the lot next to Firehouse subs and go out by Prices Fork/Fairlawn. This option may also work for I81N if you get on the bypass north and double back on Main to Mt. Tabor Rd. ES will surly be last, and afterward it will be impossible to get on the bypass or cross Main St.

A contributing factor to Black Death was likely
the Little Ice Age, during which many crops grown in northern Europe failed to produce, thus affecting nutrition and health.

We still had a shot to go to the MNC game that year
Before we tanked in the OB, our losses were to #2 LSU and #2 BC. If UT had won over LSU in the SECCG later in the evening, after we beat BC in the ACCCG, and they led in the 4thQ, we probably would have played tOSU.

Sugar loss to UMich is up there
Their fans were such a-holes. Similarly UGa CFA bowl after 06. The MARTA ride after was torture.

We were there summer 22
The biggest waves are in winter and on the other side of the bluff from town. Still...there were some huge sets coming in on the town side. Maybe some 20 footers. Life guards take no lip - you're not allowed to get anywhere near. People line up on the boardwalk and just watch, their eyes glazing over. Very cool coastline - reminds of Cali.

IRMAA tale
Our IRMAA was going to cost us $12k this year due to a one time CG in 2023. (IRMAA is Medicare premium add-on based on higher income) My finance guy said to tell SS I had a "life changing condition", that being I made less at my primary employer in 2024 than in 2023 (though not nearly to the extent of the CG), and BTW my 2024 income would be below the IRMAA-inducing level. SS bought it and has waived the IRMAA, and has refunded what I already paid in Jan.

Big snow Super Bowl Sunday. Cancelled classes
It was said for the 1st time ever. Word was they couldn't get the boys out to plow the commuter lot because they wanted to watch the game instead. 1/9/77

Have dabbled in water distribution system design
Rarely does one design for more than one structure fire at a time. Maybe this is a thing in Cali. But my take is even a supremely robust system would have been no match (NPI).

Another data point - he managed the clock well at the end
This is something young QBs struggle with. The game was in hand but he still let the play clock run down. MV1 was good at this too.

True story - when he was fired from uva it was not for cause so
he was due the remainder of his contract. The contract stipulated that the amount due would be reduced by any compensation he made coaching during the remaining contract period. So when he took the Ga. Tech DC position he asked that his salary be deferred. Chess vs. checkers.
