I think it would be a place on the west or southwest side of the mountains,
Not that Virginia has high peaks but as a front tries to cross higher ground it gets compressed which causes the snow to fall. Since most of our fronts come from the west or south west that’s my reasoning.

Konnarock? Trying to figure out if this is a function of cold, or getting
lots of moisture in a cold place. that is, I'll go with a southerly place that captures gulf stream moisture.

Welpers when I lived there it was Wise, VA. It seemed to always be snowing.
