Chicago was my first concert. Roanoke Civic Center in 1976 . . .

I was 15, and my "dates" mother had to drive us to the show and pick us up. :-)

I always replace the network audio with the streaming VT radio broadcast

for football and both basketball teams. Sure wish we had that option for softball.

Just in case you hadn't heard, the freshman Hoo pitcher last night . . .

didn't get the strike calls on the pitches on the outside corner. :-) Not sure Hoo that announcer was last night, but I don't think that she could have possibly been any more of a UVa homer. After about the 50th time that she mentioned that the poor little Hoo pitcher couldn't get the call, I wanted to throw something at my TV. ** Edited by HokieKip at 5/8/2026, 8:11:02 AM

Just a guess, but is your neighborhood a decent distance from a price club

such as Sam's, BJ's, or Costco? I know here in Roanoke, gas is usually cheaper on the side of town that includes the Sam's & the BJ's than it is anywhere else in town. Also cheaper there than in Christiansburg, where I live now.

Are you sure you are not hearing players on the court? I have been to . . .

almost every home game this year, and we have players who do a lot of screeching when on defense to let other defenders know that they are being screened on their blind side.

Or, more specifically . . .

Also a county, but strangely enough the city/town is nowhere near the . . .

county. I'll always remember when I was a freshman at VT, other students would ask me where I was from (probably because of my "country" accent). When I told them Franklin County, most would reply "Oh, so not far from Suffolk". Nope, not even close.

I've heard that song hundreds of times, but I couldn't tell you . . .

a single lyric other than "Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo-doo" & "I want somethin' else".

I've got this TPMS for my travel trailer . . .

pretty standard add-on for most RV's. ** Edited by HokieKip at 12/18/2025, 11:14:57 AM

Yep, just found out that my 2020 F-250 has two batteries . . .

and the service dept. at the dealer recommends that both be replaced. Around $200 each.

Officiating question. Why does Wenzel not "get the call" more often . . .

when she drives to the basket? It seems to me that a LOT of contact goes uncalled when she drives to the hoop. Is it because the refs know that she is purposely trying to draw a foul when driving, and refuse to make that call every time? Or possibly because she appears a little out of control when she "flings" the ball towards the basket?

My bad, and it may get me de-activated by Will . . .

That's actually Elisha Cuthbert, and, if I recall correctly, is one of Will's favorites. Damn Google image search.

Here ya' go . . .

Depending on your age, you will probably remember this.

My daughter sent me this video . . .

and said "I can't believe that you didn't name me Hokie Marange!"

PSA for any of you RV'ers that want to travel to the N.C. State game . . .

RV sites are available at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh for the N.C. State game on 9/27. Only $35/night for RV sites with full hookups, and only 1/2 mile walk from the stadium. Sweet!!
