Dodged a bullet with my Garmin bike computer.
Since the very long and very cold winter weather is close to being over (we have several days this week with lows in the 30s...again), I decided to recharge my bike computer in preparation for spring rides. Well, it didn't go as planned. I checked my bike computer after ~30 minutes of charging, and it appeared to be dead. It wouldn't turn on with a power cord attached. (Rut row.) Hit the Garmin website and found that the internal battery could be damaged if it has been completely drained for two weeks (or words to that effect). I haven't ridden since probably early November, so it's been months since I last recharged it. (Rut row.) It also said to hold the power button "on" for 12 seconds to reboot the computer. It powered up, but showed a 0% charge. This after it has been "charging" for an hour. (Rut row.). I left it connected to the power cable overnight, and it showed a 99% charge this morning. (Whew!). I'll try to get out Thursday or Friday for a spin, so fingers crossed it will still be charged. In the meantime, double your pleasure! ** Edited by EDGEMAN at 3/23/2026, 8:31:16 AM

We went for our first short ride of the year around the new neighborhood
on Sunday afternoon. My wife on her e-bike and me on my "me-bike".
