Both Seidel and Burton took out the only
Penn State recruits to make the finals!
I would say if this were the NCAAs with
2 Champions
1 Runner-up
1 3rd
1 5th
All-Americans, of course.
We could very well have been standing on top of the podium!
Penn State had 3 All-American Penn State recruits to make the finals!
I'm not sure of other schools but I can't imagine anyone having a better result than our recruits did this year!
Great job guys!
Keep it Rolling!

should see a nice bump after Fargo.

Just hopped over to their forum and they seem to be discounting some of the training partners we have available for Burton. TJ and Gage and Sasso and Haught are big time talents to be rolling with every day. Better than their room at this point outside of DT himself.

were started by PSU posters.
PSU board rumor is DT will fill a 184/197 spot with a current high schooler out of PA/NJ. Kid is currently committed but will visit Stillwater.
PSU board identified several high schoolers meeting the criteria including Burton.

Ludington makes the most sense to me - he's a pure 184/197 and ASU is questionable right now with Sunkist Kids.
Burton doesn't cut weight and I think most would list him as a 174/184. There is no way you can say Burton is a 197 when he's walking around at or below 175.
Correa is the third name listed. Too heavy IMO but seems he's been open about not being fully committed.
OT but I have no worries about Seidel, he seems to have a great relationship with the staff.

based on the PSU thread.
Over on the OSU board, Pennstate1985 listed both Burton and Ludington as OSU interests in the link below.
Read in another thread that 1985 is friends with one of Paterno's sons (Jay I think). Seems to have good connections within the PSU athletic department and possibly M2.

Hopefully Robie & Frayer can sell him on working with TJ, Gage, Sasso, etc.
We have plenty of guys to push Burton

DT was given a war chest when he hired.

he has any more ability than any other coach to help someone else achieve success. As far as I know, Taylor has not proven anything as a coach.
With that said, I hope Coach TR has the NIL funds he needs to be competitive.
PS: Tech is much better academically than Oklahoma State. Maybe that will help.

better than OSU recently. Just having Taylor does not automatically make OSU a better option than Tech in my opinion.

But there's a big difference between Olympian and Olympic champion, not to mention the rest of DT's world championships. Now that's not to say DT is a better coach than Frayer- I would actually think the opposite at this point- but the name alone is going to attract big time talent.

Seidel was pretty dominant too, that was not a close match, Seidel looked improved. Burton was very close but definitely the better wrestler in a tough match. I would say he looked improved but he's looked like this for a while now. Glad we could snag the 29 seed.

Haven't seen that side of him before. That underhook against Desmond was nasty. I think he's adding stuff and improving from a technicial perspective, but also really growing into the weight. He was still making 113 at the start of last season.
I swear Seidel, Burton, Gaj and Gorman just keep taking turns impressing me and making them my favorite recruit of the class.

Are all 4 of them enrolling (or supposed to) this fall?

With different numbers of entries committed to different teams, and more weights than college. But our guys definitely had a really strong showing.
