@David Cunningham
Can you give a blurb of what Liz worked in over the summer? I heard she and Coach KN talk about off-season workouts and concentrations but to me she’s still doing the same things that got her in trouble last year. Brining the ball down low to make herself small. Struggles with bigger bodies (see Iowa game), haven’t seen an outside shot developed yet and getting stronger in the paint with the ball and moves. Is this worthy of an article? Maybe one that covers all the girls off-season developments or would that give information away to other schools?

An article on the 2 time ACC player of the year and her deficiencies? SMH

She was not just on the blocks. Her range looked extended.

Agree...her range is extended & she just looks stronger/smoother.
She probably didn't work on getting walloped to the point of needing stitches and gritting it out with a swollen face this summer, however. And yet...she still racked up another double-double vs one of the country's best teams. I bet we see that 3 pt shot on Thursday. Reminder: it's game TWO, everyone.

They promised us a sky hook last summer and didn't deliver.
I wanted to see Liz channel Kareem on the court but no such luck.

Well, she is 6'6" and not 7'2"

You don't have to 7'2" to have an effective hook. I'm 6'2" and . .
. . . usually hit two or three hooks every time I play. Of course I'm a 70+ year-old usually being guarded by only slightly younger guys :) That said, Liz would have profited from developing a greater variety of post moves but I think the step-back is about it.

What trouble was she in last year? What more can you expect from her?
3 times ACC first team, two time ACC Player of the of the Year, VT all-time leader in points, rebounds, double-doubles, and more! Liz is just fine. It is her fifth year and I doubt you are going to see much change, nor should we. She has a target on her back and draws double & triple defenders from every team we play. Go Hokies,

agree...biggest help will be making others more "dangerous" by
getting the younger players more court time now and refining play-chemistry ... Make teams pay when they over-commit

She's VTs biggest star athlete and still gets criticism from some VT fans

Apparently we are blessed as a fanbase to have a bunch of Luigi Auriemma's in the wings, just waiting to "coach up" our players.

She has a target on her back ... and all those accolades ...and unlike some
others we are familiar with in women's basketball, she gets ZERO star treatment from the refs. If anything, they seem to just let others go in on her. Hard to watch sometimes. Would love to see that change this season...but not holding my breath.
