So we are a team with no chance of hosting first round until someone's
calendar changes?

later than it was in the 90’s? I graduated in 1991 and my graduation was on May 4th.

the second semester until late in January. Partly because of the MLK holiday.

Sounds like VT will almost always have a conflict with timing of Commencement. Additionally, is it stated in the bid guidelines that hotels must be within 45 minutes and 30 miles? If known, why even submit a bid if only hotels available are in Salem or Roanoke?
So what’s the committee going to do next year when VT is a solid 8 seed? They can’t deny a legit high seed hosting because the only hotels available are more than 45 minutes away.

So they should be within parameters.
Issue is hotels not wanting to have 30 rooms blocked up to 5 days before graduation.
Next year it’s a week away from graduation

My guess is we would be given the chance to move the location from Blacksburg into an area, say Roanoke/Salem and play there.
But the Committee won't make that offer to a team in the 14-20 range. They will just pick the higher national name from among that 14-20 range that does meet the requirement. IIWII

Difference than Tech. There's very few motels 40 miles north of Salem

So with the team we should have return (if they don’t get PO’d and leave) we will have a great shot next year
