Pitching stats for the tournament
20 IP, 11 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 12 BB, 27 Ks Those are impressive numbers, especially considering the competition. Hopefully Bree is ok and Pete can go into the NCAAs with confidence in three pitchers. Avery proved today that he can rely on her if needed.

The pitching was outstanding. For me the jury was out on Josh J. Couldn’t
see our pitchers getting better under him. But, I saw it this weekend. Right, we have 3 options now.

Being obsessed with walks is crap.

It doesn’t matter if they don’t score. Combined with 0 HRs and 11 hit
You can walk 12 and survive. That’s a WHIP of 1.15.

I hope this is TIC. Giving up 2 earned runs
over 20 innings is truly elite.

One of them was unearned, correct?

That’s about VT’s norm for the year.

Paired with 27 K's you'll take it. On the whole though you'd like to . . .
. . . two UNINTENTIONAL BB per game.

Sam's article said Bree had an upper arm muscle thing and was ready to go.

That thing, whatever it is, is moving around! ;)
First, she is messing with her index finger in the circle. Then it was a forearm cramp. Now is an upper arm muscle thing. Keep them guessing!!!

If it's any way related to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome all could be true . .
. . . and with some rest should be available for at least limited duty next week. Now this is pure speculation on my part. The better alternative is it is, in fact, some localized trauma to a finger that will be amenable to treatment. ** Edited by MidloHokie at 5/9/2026, 10:05:07 PM

My memory is questionable. Quote inside.
"..left in the sixth inning with forearm tightness." ** Edited by TomTurkey at 5/9/2026, 9:32:31 PM
