Here are my unsolicited thoughts
1. These ladies are excellent representatives of our school and deserve all of our support. I know we already agree on this, but it's worth repeating for emphasis.
2. As others have mentioned, we came into the season with big questions around pitching. As a result, many were leaning toward this being a "down" or "rebuilding" year, but 38-9 is damn good and the ladies should be proud.
3. Maybe going on the road for the post season wouldn't be so bad? Perhaps there are fewer distractions on the road which allows the team to be more focused and approach their roles with greater intensity.
4. Maybe the current skid is good and will serve as a wake up call as the team proceeds to the post season.
With this post, I'm probably guilty of being a "Pollyanna" by not pointing out obvious flaws. That's fair. However, I feel like those have been highlighted enough and the team is quite aware of what they need to work on. I say all of this as a very pessimistic person in general, so here's to hoping that by going against my inherent impulses the team and universe at large will reward us with future success!

I hope there enough Hokies wherever VT plays to give them a taste of home. 3. above could be very key to their post-season. Of course, Hooville will have good representation from Hokie Nation.

Honestly we’d outperformed preseason expectations based on what we knew vs our questions re:pitching
I think the pointing out of what’s happening and WHY we think it’s happening doesn’t have to be some damning criticism of the players themselves. They haven’t “quit” or stopped trying. Sometimes wanting something so bad = pressing and getting outside yourselves.
I’m hoping that’s what’s happened and now that hosting is likely off the table they just stop thinking about how much they WANTED that goal. Refocus on other goals…top 4 seed for ACCT; ACCT chance; going on the road and continuing to flourish in our road game routines.
They’ve shown they’re not giving up in the 7th inning of each of the last 2 even down to last strike and last out…we’ve literally come up one barreled up shot short.
My in game ridiculous “reverse mojo” attempts aside…reality is I am NOT disappointed IN THEM….I’m disappointed FOR THEM and the fans that we likely won’t get postseason at TSP. BUT this season is absolutely still very much alive

They have been a ray of sunshine in a pretty dismal athletic year in the Burg. And they do it old school , not for NIL and very unlikely to play against us next year.
These would be the last athletes I would ever diss .

No one feels worse about the past three games that these ladies (and Coach Pete) do.
They never stopped battling last night, scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh.
I'm confident that they will give UNC their best shot this weekend.

I’m disappointed FOR THEM
They’re absolutely giving it their all as shown by the 7th inning of each of the last 2. “Pressing” isn’t necessarily a criticism in my opinion….its a symptom of caring and really trying but sometimes it gets you outside of yourself causing mini-slumps like this
Mentally diamond sports are tough. As many have said…if you fail .60 percent of the time as a hitter you’re still an elite hitter
