Missed the game yesterday but two quick comments:

1 - Avery Leyton. Wow, impressive not only talent wise but also how she works in pressure situations. 2- win game one today and a lot of pressure falls on home team LSU. One at a time. Stay calm, focused, LGH!

Well, in one conceivable way they are not better. They are 0-6 against

a certain band of Hokies. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ ** Edited by BEST2VT at 5/13/2026, 10:09:22 PM

Seems pretty clear we have the best offense in this regional. But we will

have to deal with very good pitching. Need to be wise at the plate with good and patient plate discipline. Would be nice to score early and put the pressure on. We all know how a great opposing pitcher can really change the game.

Wow! I knew she had a better year at the plate, but had no

idea it was that drastic of an improvement. And, it β€˜seems’ like she hit better toward the last month?? Not sure of that.

Yep, pick the teams you want and then select and weight the stats to

support it. No matter if those stats and weightings change every year because β€˜we know more now.’ ** Edited by BEST2VT at 5/11/2026, 12:59:02 PM

The entire section process, for whatever sport, is so subjective that

it must frustrate coaches (particularly non SEC coaches) to a huge extent. Seems clear that RPI was weighted heavier than other indexes that I understood where to be used , despite all the clear idiocies of the RPI. I don’t claim to know much about the 16 teams in front of us, but our win percentage against the SEC apparently didn’t matter. I can only say that I will be rooting against every SEC team this year. They have clear $ advantages in most cases and now the NCAA giving them home field advantage. Sickening. I hope our girls and coaches can think about all this in a way that motivates them and not in a way that hurts them. LGH!

I have as much or more confidence in those three as any pinch

hitters we have, especially coming in cold off the bench to face the ACC POY.

Well, yes, good point. That GT series at home also has

left me wondering if we somehow focus better when away from the β€˜friendly confines.’

Just to be clear (which I wasn’t), I was referring to the 3-1 pitch). I

thought it was outside. I don’t blame Anni at all for swinging at the next pitch, especially after that call.

Agree, thought the same thing. I think we are every bit as good - better

and we would play a bit more β€˜loose’ next time. But FSU pitcher was excellent.

Yeah, feels like one we should have one. FSU pitching is very good, but

I feel like we went in feeling pressed to have a perfect game, maybe overestimating them.

That was ball 4!
