Emily LeGette - was she stuck behind Chatfield, hence leaving for UNC?
She's having a good year, at least leading the ACC with 17 dingers. I wonder if NIL might have been involved? Please don't post if this was a "sensitive" situation. Mostly curious...

She was. I think (IIRC) Pete tried (or at least talked about) Michelle
playing outfield to try to get Emily on the field. Same way he toyed with Kylie in the outfield this year. I think it just comes down to that if you only have the athleticism for catcher or 1B, you have to be the best at those spots or the best remaining hitter after the starting 8 to be the DP. Kylie is the extra catcher, Emily was the extra 1B, and only one could be the DP. ** Edited by vatechcowpatty at 3/29/2026, 10:22:14 AM

UNC Softball has One ranked win (UVA)
They need to step up their game to even make postseason. They were just pounded twice By Arizona State. UNC has Duke FSU and The Hokies to contend with coming up. They probably will be on the “postseason bubble’ as they come to Blacksburg for their last ACC series. If they fail to make a regional, they will suffer softball indigestion resulting from eating too many cupcakes.

EL has 8 HR in 12 games and a 462 average. uNC problem is pitching.

Stuck behind Chatfield at first and Aldridge at DP. Those two are
great hitters for sure but they have not shown the power EL has this year. Given the focus on power I am surprised they didn’t see this potential in EL. Easy competition early but she is hitting .462 with 8 HRs in 12 ACC games. That’s Cori Mac stats. We’ve got no one close to that. Maybe she is the kind of player that needs to play every day to reach her potential.

It's not news that good players want to play. EL fits the description.
