and Irv had the Town Crier. In the winter, I would get up early to see if Irv announced that our school was closed.

ages! Nice to know that I'm not the only old guy out here.
Remember watching Bingo on channel 7 back in the 60s? Mom would give me a calendar and a box of buttons so I could play along. (Obviously, I had no chance of getting any numbers higher than N31, but I was five, so...)
