before the pitch is delivered? Not on rise balls but the guy obviously has pin point control. Throwing darts. If there's a pitcher's version of playing small ball, Mata is playing it.

When he throws batting practice to the team, he lets up a little, but the idea is if they can hit him, they can hit anyone.

1. what's the rule about staying connected to the rubber that we were hit with last yr and does it apply to men's fast pitch?
2. how fast is he throwing? Some of these swing and misses are not close.
3. is he not required to stay inside the circle?
